The purpose of these articles, industry secrets and great tips is to better educate the public on everything from driving safety to saving money and most importantly how to avoid being scammed.

According to David Maillie, "The idea of putting all these great articles, useful tips and sources together in one location came about one day when I was sitting in a local car dealers service department waiting room and became aware that they were knowingly scamming a single mother. She obviously didn't have any automotive knowledge which would have allowed her to see through their scam. She didn't know that she had other less expensive options and that most of what the dealer was recommending was outrageously overpriced, completely unnecessary and pretty much a complete scam. When the service advisor left she cried and was wondering how she was going to pay for this and make ends meet.

It sickened me that the service advisor and car dealer were so money hungry to try and knowingly take such advantage over someone whom could least afford it and this happens every day all over the country. This taking advantage of those in less fortunate circumstances like this must stop. So I put together everything I could from my experience and many other experts and organized them all on the website."

These great articles and tips are easily located at:

http://www.mdwholesale.com/Sitemap.html

These great articles cover many vast automotive topics and are loaded with great tips, some of which are automotive secrets never before published outside of the automotive industry - many car dealers are currently trying to suppress this information for obvious reasons. These articles, secrets and tips are a definite must read for everyone as there is something for everyone from single mothers to automotive experts, technicians, body shop and even detailing experts. These great tips will educate, increase driver safety, keep cars or trucks running longer through better understanding of maintenance, save big money and help avoid scams all from MDWholesale.com.

Saving Money by Cutting Coupons Improves Lives: Sisters of Savings Seek to Educate and Give Back to the Community

Saving Money by Cutting Coupons Improves Lives: Sisters of Savings Seek to Educate and Give Back to the Community

Saving money at the grocery checkout improves the lives of families and helps those less fortunate in the community.

(PRWEB) October 12, 2006 -- Sisters of Savings seek to educate families on how to save hundreds of dollars a month simply by using coupons and how to use that savings to give back to the community. Founded by natural sisters Cheryl Jackson and Lynette Shofner, the organization teaches how to cut a grocery bill, sometimes by as much as ninety percent, while more than tripling the amount of food purchased. It is the Sisters of Savings mission to improve lives and increase the money leftover in households.

The savings are evident within their sisterhood and brotherhood of growing members. With over 350,000 hits to their website in the past two weeks it is evident that the need to save money is great. The media has picked up on this buzz and they recently put the Sisters to the test. That day the Sisters saved over $225.00 on a $306.83 grocery bill total.

“This has been a very hard year for my husband and me,” Alyson Roberts, a Sister of Savings member says. “We had another baby and my husband quit his job to pursue another career. Needless to say, money has been tight at times and other times non-existent. A friend of mine referred me to the Sisters of Savings website. I looked at the website and said it looks great, but still didn't jump into action. Finally, I took my last eight dollars to purchase four Dallas Morning News newspapers just for all the coupons. Then I went shopping.

I calculated the meals that I purchased for last week and the cost was only $6.49. Over a month ago, we would have spent over $100 dollars. I cannot lie! On the Sisters of Savings shopping buddy list that I received, they revealed that a certain brand of product was free at Tom Thumb so immediately I went to the store and I stocked up on meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also got breads to go with our meats and vegetables and it was also FREE. My husband and I will finally be able to get caught up on our bills because the bills are a temporary situation. But the Sisters of Savings program is now a permanent fixture in our life,” Mrs. Roberts explains.

Giving families a bright new future has become a direct result of teaching them how to cut coupons and how to shop. Each week, members of the Sisters of Savings shopping buddy club will receive a shopping buddy list with all the grocery stores listed and their sale items. In addition, it notes coupons available for that week through the newspapers. An example of savings for this week was a jar of Bush’s Chili that retails for $2.57, Sisters of Savings found it on sale 3 for $5.00 which equals $1.67 a jar, when they applied the $1.50 off coupon to the sale price, they walked away paying only .17 for each jar of Bush’s Chili.

“This thing really works and it’s working fast,” member Chandra Hawthorne says. “I went out tonight for the first time by myself to try out everything I'd learn from the Sisters of Savings seminar. I had my Sisters of Savings binder that keeps my coupons organized, my SOS shopping buddy, and all my savings tips- the whole nine yards! My first stop was Kroger. I bought seven Viva paper towels, 10 bags of Success brown rice, and nine sticks of Philly cream cheese. My total should have been about $23.00 and I only spent $3.23! That’s a 91% savings; I kept my receipt to prove it!

But the savings isn’t only benefiting the families who cut coupons using Sisters of Saving’s method. It’s also giving back to the community. With all the extra groceries the Sisters of Savings are collecting and the money they are saving in doing so, there’s more than enough food to go around. The abundance is given to their favorite charity, The Touch Ministry, and to shelters, and food banks to feed those who don’t have the luxury of cutting coupons and going to the grocery stores themselves.

Co-Founder Cheryl Jackson explains “food banks and shelters need food at other times besides the holidays. So not only can our sisters now afford to stock their own pantries and deep freezers, they can more than afford to give a grocery bag or two to someone less fortunate. And they do. It’s not uncommon to see our sister’s drop off grocery bags full of food for someone in need. Jackson also enjoys asking cashiers “Do you believe in magic” as they both watch the grocery bill lower by every coupon swapped and every reward card used.”

Sandy Cullers, a Sister of Savings member agrees. “With my involvement as a member of community and social organizations such as LULAC and Las Comrades, I am able to help spread the word to those around me. The Sisters of Savings have taught me how to save money and shop effectively. I have also learned how to give and help charities, and I have made some incredible friends. The Sisters of Savings is not only a tool to help make our lives easier, it’s an incredible fellowship of people who all share incredible stories of savings and special friendships!”

Sisters of Savings hold seminars to teach others how to save and help improve lives in the community. The cost of the seminar is $25.00 (with $5.00 off each registration to be given to The Touch Ministry). Check the Sisters of Savings website at http://www.sistersofsavings.com/ for seminar information, savings tools, and further details.

Save at the Gas Pump - Real Money Saving Tips

Save at the Gas Pump - Real Money Saving Tips

There are numerous no- or low-cost steps you can take to combat rising gas prices. Real life examples and tips.

(PRWEB) October 16, 2005 -- There are numerous no- or low-cost steps you can take to combat rising gas prices.

Most cars can run on regular unleaded – 87 octane. High performance vehicles will usually require 91 octane or higher. Check your owner's manual to determine the right octane level for your car. It’s also usually written inside your gas lid, door panel, and sometimes right on your dashboard under the fuel gauge. It will say something like “Premium Unleaded Only” which means 91 octane or higher. All gas pumps must post the octane rating.

Gas Cards

Check out gas card offers from gas stations and credit card companies. The can save you an additional 1% to 5% off every gallon or earn you free gas. One of the best cards out there right now can be found http://valueauthority.com/savegas.htm

Drive more efficiently:

-- Stay within posted speed limits. The faster you drive, the more fuel you use. For example, driving at 65 miles per hour (mph), rather than 55 mph, increases fuel consumption by 20 percent. Driving at 75 mph, rather than 65 mph, increases fuel consumption by another 25 percent. This is caused by the amount of energy it takes to push your car through the air and the amount of drag created by your cars body.

So if your car gets 25-mpg highway at 55 mph, driving 65mph will drop it down to 20 mpg. Driving 75 mph drops it down to just 16 mpg!

My personal experience with my 98 VW Beetle: I drove to New York at the posted speed limits between 55 and 65 mph. I got about 35mpg and 450 miles on one tank. When I drove to Florida the posted speed limits were between 55 – 70 mph. I actually drove about 75 mph most of the way. I only got 27 mpg and about 350 miles on one tank. I lost almost 100 miles distant per tank! I couldn’t believe it.

-- Use overdrive gears. Overdrive gears improve the fuel economy of your car during highway driving. Your car's engine speed decreases when you use overdrive. This reduces both fuel consumption and engine wear. Most automatic transmission cars will have an overdrive button right on the gearshift. Look for a “D” and/or “O/D”. You will see a light on the dash indicating weather it’s on or off. Check your owner’s manual to be sure. If your car has a tachometer, you should be able to tell by watching your engine’s rpm speed on the highway. Buy switching the overdrive on, your rpm’s should drop significantly.

-- Use cruise control. For longer trips using cruise control can help you maintain a constant speed and, in most cases, reduce your fuel consumption. Set it to 55 mph on highways.

-- Avoid unnecessary braking and acceleration, and improve your fuel economy by 5 to 10 percent. In city driving, nearly 50 percent of the energy needed to power your car goes to acceleration. Go easy on the gas pedal and brakes. "Jack-rabbit" starts and sudden stops are wasteful. Let off the gas early when approaching yellow and red lights, stop signs etc… Most fuel-injected cars will cut off the fuel supply to the engine while you slow down saving you even more gas.

-- Combine errands. Several short trips taken from a cold start can use twice as much fuel as one trip covering the same distance when the engine is warm. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for a car to reach normal operating temperature. Until then, your car is using almost twice as much fuel to keep the engine running!

-- Remove excess weight from the trunk. Avoid carrying unneeded items, especially heavy ones. An extra 100 pounds in the trunk reduces a typical car's fuel economy by one to two percent.

Maintain your car

Keep your engine tuned. Studies have shown that a poorly tuned engine can increase fuel consumption by as much as 10 to 20 percent depending on a car's condition. Follow the recommended maintenance schedule in your owner's manual; you'll save fuel and your car will run better and last longer.

-- Keep your tires properly inflated and aligned. Under inflated tires on a car is like running on the beach with no shoes. Car manufacturers must place a label in the car stating the correct tire pressure. The label usually is on the edge of the door or doorjamb, in the glove box, or on the inside of the gas cap cover. If the label lists a psi (pounds per square inch) range, use the higher number to maximize your fuel efficiency. Under inflated tires cause fuel consumption to increase by 6%.

-- Change your oil. Clean oil reduces wear caused by friction between moving parts and removes harmful substances from the engine. Change your oil as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

-- Check and replace air filters regularly. Your car's air filter keeps impurities in the air from damaging internal engine components. Not only will replacing a dirty air filter improve your fuel economy, it also will protect your engine. Clogged filters can cause up to a 10% increase in fuel consumption. Imagine running up a flight of stairs with only using one nostril in your nose to breath.

There may be trouble ahead: Many people expect a life of pension poverty in retirement, Fairinvestme

A large portion of people are expecting to find themselves below the poverty line when they retire, according to new research from Fairinvestment.co.uk.

When asked what they expect from their retirement, 33 per cent of people said that they are looking forward to a comfortable living with an adequate income when the time comes to retire, but a disturbing 19 per cent were less optimistic, admitting that they are likely to face a life of poverty in their retirement.

The survey also found that 26 per cent expect money to be tight but that with strict budgeting they should be able to manage financially through their retirement; 11 per cent declared that they are living for today and as yet have no preparations in place for their retirement.

A lucky seven per cent of respondents said that they harbour no concerns about supporting themselves financially through their twilight years and will live a life of luxury when they retire.

One optimistic respondent is eagerly awaiting the "Ferrari and a 21 year old" that they expect from their pension fund, while another individual, reflecting the current climate of instability in the economy, simply asked "Who can save enough for retirement?".

"Many people are feeling the effects of the credit crunch, with rising food and energy prices and soaring mortgage repayments." explained James Caldwell, director at Fairinvestment.co.uk. "As a result, they have less available money to stash away for the future in savings and pensions, which explains why some people have no idea how they will manage once they stop working.

"Furthermore, Britons have found themselves taking on increasing levels of debt over the last five years, so saving for retirement has not been high on the priority list for many as they strive to keep up with repayments. The relative financial prudence of the current retired generation has given way to a more 'live for today' attitude.

"However, it is important that people start to plan for their retirement from an early stage in their career to give themselves enough time to accumulate a comfortable income. It might be that the 19 per cent who expect a life of poverty have not done all they could to prepare for their future and are now accepting the consequences."

Fairinvestment.co.uk offers free information about pensions, and can put those concerned about supporting themselves through retirement in touch with an advisor who can help them choose the right pension product for their individual circumstances and requirements.

PickPackGo Offers Money-Saving Tips to Vacation Rental Property Managers and Second Home Owners

PickPackGo Offers Money-Saving Tips to Vacation Rental Property Managers and Second Home Owners

Tax season ideal time to reflect on how to better maximize vacation rental income and profit

San Francisco (PRWEB) February 25, 2008 -- Despite housing woes and talk of a recession, this year thousands of travelers are still expected to go on vacation. Many will spend a week or more at a theme park, in the mountains or at the beach with their extended families. Fed up with rising hotel room prices, travelers are looking for more affordable and spacious accommodations and finding a popular alternative in vacation rental homes.

For savvy property managers and second homeowners, these trends equate to more rental income. During this tax season, here are some tips for maximizing vacation rental income and profit:

* Reach renters online without up-front fees: In the past, vacation rental property managers and homeowners had to pay a flat fee of several hundred dollars just to list a single property, without any guarantee of getting even one rental. A growing number of sites allow managers and owners to advertise their properties for free. Some websites now offer performance-based advertising programs that only charge for qualified inquiries or bookings that are delivered.

* Attract weekend travelers using free regional boards: Getaway travelers first consider locations within driving distance. Property managers and homeowners that regularly post to free regional boards, such as Craigslist.org, can quickly and cost-effectively reach renters planning last-minute trips. For example, Craigslist San Francisco Bay Area attracts those considering Napa Valley, Carmel and Lake Tahoe getaways. To maximize posts' effectiveness, include links to descriptive property listings on vacation rental sites, such as PickPackGo.com, where property managers and owners can maintain updated photos, availability, rate and location details for free. This saves time and helps keep Craigslist.org posts short.

* Offer online booking: Today's travelers shop online 24 hours a day, so it isn't surprising that vacation homes that can be booked directly online enjoy higher occupancy rates and often command premium rents. Vacation rental software and services, offered by Escapia, Instant Software and others, work with PickPackGo.com to make online bookings quick and simple.

* Consider allowing minimum stays of less than a week: In popular destinations, vacation rental property managers and homeowners can appeal to a larger base of renters if they are willing to accept stays of three or four nights. By charging a slightly higher nightly rate incorporating the cleaning and maintenance fees, managers and homeowners can fill their calendars more quickly, especially during slow rental seasons, and reduce the worry about whether a property will generate sufficient income for the year.

* Target shoulder season and off-season travelers: Many travelers prefer to vacation during shoulder- and off-season periods with lower travel costs and thinner crowds. PickPackGo.com offers property managers and owners unique online advertising programs that tailor advertising to the travel seasons of interest.
